British writer Imogen Mann first conceived of The White Suri in 2023.

Having originally started breeding white Suri alpaca on the family farm in 2004, largely because of the white fibre’s dying versatility, Imogen later decided the beautiful natural white warranted showcasing too, along with the added environmental benefit of not using dyes.

The White Suri is uniquely British: field to finished product designed, processed and woven in the UK from British white Suri alpaca fibre blended with a touch of Falkland Islands Polwarth wool for added cosiness.

Working on a Drop Model and producing in limited numbers allows focus on quality over quantity. The White Suri was developed with the belief of creating and producing less, but doing it better. Imogen’s hope is for it to be an essential wardrobe item that will last a lifetime.
